I tried everything in my newbie mind but i can not seem to convert avi to mpg. I used TMPgENC but it is extremely slow(It would take days to complete one half of a movie:my computer isnt even slow); I also tried cutting an avi but nothing reads my avi's properly. I can view them on Windows Media Player. While using Virtual Dub I always get this error message:"Couldnt locate MP4S decompressor","Couldnt locate wmv2 compressor". Im in desperate need of help. "Couldnt locate MP4S decompressor"

This indicates that you have to download and install the DivX v.4.12 codec.

Have had same problem and am searching for Answer. As far as I can find out, MWV2 is part of the Windows Media video 8 format. New out, TMPG is the only prog so far that will do anything with it, and Yes! it takes bloody ages.

If I find more Info, will keep u posted.
