On your CD, in the directory "MPEGAV", you'll find a file named "AVSEQ01.dat".
Copy this file to your hard drive. You can use VCD Cutter or TMPGEnc to change this file back to a "plain" MPEG1 file.
If your only purpose in re-converting the file is to be able to play it under Windows Media Player (or similar), there's really no reason to perform surgery on the file. Simply run Windows Media Player and from within Explorer, "drag and drop" this file onto the already open Media Player. The file will start to play automatically.
Let us know of your success ;>} -

Horray
Yep Tmpeg does the job but it takes a while, but who gives a toss i have a backup copy on my computer thanks very much.
I tried vcd gear as well but with no success. i selected the dat to mpeg selection selected the file and saved the file under a different name. It then goes through the process of conversion but when i go and check my directory the new file which i have saved it under isn't there, i have tried this numerous times with different file names and used different directories but the files never appear when the process is done
What the Hell am i doing wrong can someone guide me through using vcd gear to convert an AVSEQ01.dat file to mpeg
God i am so thick!!!!!Comment
