I was curious as to how people write the comments into the files so that you can see it at the bottom of Windows Media Player. IE who ripped it, summary, comments, etc. Is this something you do before you encode the file or after everything is said and done? Thanks.
How do you write comments to display on the bottom of Windows Media Player?

I gave it a shot, but now when I try to open my avi files that I've changed the tags on, Media Player doesn't respond... it just hangs there. So I tried opening the file again with the tag editor to erase all the tags, but the same thing happens... it just hangs.Comment

Strange, to be honest I didn't try it before recommending it.
I have done a couple of tests now without any problems.
This tool was released a few days ago, so I guess a few bug is to be expected. But you should definetly report this to the author, ofcause with as many details as possible (exact description of encoding method, which fields were edited, error message in media player)Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
