    Different Audio Channels???

As my name suggests, I'm fairly new to this DVDShrink thing...but I like it! Anyway, in an effort to save space and improve quality, I like to rip my DVDs using only one audio channel (usually AC3 5.1- ch English). However, on some DVDs, I noticed there is more than one AC3 5.1-ch English channel (two and three are not uncommon). Sometimes they vary in size and sometimes they are identical.

My questions are...what's the difference? And, is it necessary to rip all of them?

Note, I realize the difference between formats (AC3 vs DTS) and languages...so that's not what I'm asking. But, I'm confused about similar, and sometimes identical audio channels. Please help!

    Thanks.

i am guessing they are cast/director's commentary...

when you say "identical", do you mean in size, or content. ie. did you play the audio streams? were they identical?

No, they definitely are not cast/director's commentary. Those are usualy listed as such...at least from what I've seen. When I say "identical" I mean in size and discription (i.e. AC3 5.1-ch English). I'm not sure about the actual content. I guess that is kind of what I'm asking. I haven't taken the time yet to listen to each one independently. I was hoping there was a simple/common answer, but maybe not.

You can right-click on the preview window and play different audio streams. They are usually other languages, but if so that should be noted next to the track description. Is your window too small?
