    yep another newbie with ???

    Ok here is my ?

I have been using dvdshrink 3.17 and here is the problem I am having....

I burn the movie and then go to play it in home theater system and the movie sometimes stalls in middle or towards end of movie, then I have to either stop movie and try and force it to play, sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. I thought the problem was my home Dvd system and so had it replaced and still does the same thing. I am using Memorex DVD-R's 4X , However am only burning it at 2X. my DVD burner is a Pacific Digital dual format burner DVD and CD-RW. my pc is a home built one specs are

    AMD 2000+ 1gb mem, 120 hdd

so not sure what the problem is and I have the latest nero. Any help or advise would be apprecited. if you need more info plz ask.

    thank ya

Sometimes i get that problem so i just use an older version of Dvd Shrink to rip the dvd, sometimes that works.

It sounds as if your standalone player does not "Like" the brand/type of media that you are using. To check the capabilities/limitations of your standalone player with regards to different types of media visit:

Sounds to me like low quality media. I've had this problem before and fixed it by using Ritek media. If ALL of your backups skip it may not necessarily be a quality problem, but like ormonde said a different media might work better with your player. My problem was a random 30% or so of my backups freezing at a specific point every time I played them.
