Still image capture from Sony DVR 101??

    Hello,

I'm brand new here, so I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this question.

I have a Sony DVR 101 DVD camera, I want to capture still images from some of my home videos, but it does not seem to be an easy task. When I do a print-screen of my paused image, the I paste to MS-Paint or some such program, I either get a balck image or a partial image. I tried a program called snaggit, but this also only captures partial images or it seems that the image I want is on a layer of it's own and I cannot manipulate it properly.

Anyway, is there an easy way to capture stills from my video?

Any suggestions or directions would be greatly appreciated.

What video format does your camera save to? If you can open the video stream in "WinDVD" or "PowerDVD", you can capture stills using either program.
