    Scratched DVD help

    Hey,

Ive got a scratched DVD to play with. What program can I use to read LBA up to and after scratched portion? Tried DODSRIP, a little msdos windowed program that comes with DVD Decryptor, but cant get it working. Any programs with windows based GUI? I'm wondering why Smartripper doesn't give this option?!

    Cheers.

I've used this method on scratched CDs before, but not DVDs. Anyway, I used toothpaste on the scratch and rubbed it on the surface so that it acted like an abrasive. This method has the risk of damaging the media further but you also stand a chance to be able to save the data onto your harddrive. I've had good success with light to normal scratches.

You can try this method, but don't blame me if something goes wrong. Otherwise, there probably are specialised chemicals that can be used for this problem.
