    AMD 3200+ Encoding speeds?

Hi guys, I have an AMD 3200+ on a Shuttle AN35N, 512mb PC3200 DDR. I have my Maxtor 200GB as my primary master IDE and I have my Lite 811s DVD burner as the secondary master (using a Toshiba SD-M1712 as the slave, DVD-ROM). I am using Nforce 2.5 IDE drivers (not windows drivers) and all the drives are in DMA mode.

I use DVD Shrink 3.2. On about 70% compression, using AEC (Default Sharp) and Deep Analysis, my encoding creeps along at about 1,400 kb/s, causing the encoding process take roughly 50-60 minutes. It's faster on lower compression (80-95%) but as soon as it gets in the neighborhood of 65-75%, it creeps.

Are my speeds up to par, or no?

At about 70% compression rate the new feature enhanced quality option start. That is why it takes more time. Disable it and you will notice a higher encoding speed.

      Hi every1

This is true for me too but I wont sacrifice on the quality so I chose reauthor mode and backup just the film, thus 9/10 times I dont compress at all.

      Is this fast?
      You betcha!
