Need more help... URGENTLY!!!

Well here's the thing... I downloaded Graphedit and the other stuff needed with it... and I tried to follow Nickys guide... but... I don't understand anything... I have an .avi file which has no sound... I tried using The Playa... didn't work... I tried using Media Player for Windows... it tried to download a codec... but still nothing... I have completely no idea what to do... call me a rookie... but please help me... I need to watch this .avi with sound... otherwise I will certainly kill myself...

Which codec are you using? It sounds like you're using the 4.x codec, which is unable to play the soundtrack in the avi. If that's the case, ditch it for 3.11a codec.
