Nero VisionExpress2 problems

Hi there, i am having trouble creating VCD with Nero VisionExpress2, ithe poblem being my dvd player wont show the menu, i can select the chapters and play what videos i have on there, but it wont display the menu.

Now i have managed to create a VCD with a menu so its not my dvd player, i created the successful one with Nero Express (not vision express) this was all fine but i dont like the way it handles menues, it treats all my pics as a chapter as in VisionExpress2 it treats em like a slide show and only displays 1 pic on the menue.

Any solutions as to why Nero VisionExpress2 isnt displayying menus would be appreciated.

My Nero is not a demo and is fully upto date

Hello Rob

There is a problem with Nero 6 and SVCD/VCD (amongst others) but if you report this to Ahead it will be better I have the latest too and these probems have come in since SP2.

Ive contacted them to report the problem. hope they sort it as i dont like the way Nero Express creates menus.

You know you dont have to create the menus?

Just se Nero Express and untick the box that says enable menus

I want the menus, its the menu system i like in VisionExpress, i dont like the one that you get when u just use nero express

i didnt mean i wanted menus in a funny way, was just i like the way the menu works in Vision Express.

that update wasnt out last night, i made sure my nero was upto date before all these postings, anyways lets hope this solves the problem, i did email them last night to mention this problem i was having

Hi buddy

I know what you meant, I use NeroVision Express 2 as well, I like the way the Icons are animated and you can add video to the menu, music and make look really nice an d professional if enough work is put into the job.

I also know about failure and frustration because of silly bugs that the programs have and what not.

The update wasnt out last nite but it was released during the day today the 24th Sep.

I hope it works too I have a few problems of my own.

I cant make a SVCD because nero keeps telling me the media I'm burning the file to doesnt have enough space when the file is less than 500mb in total.

So you see funny Nero is not, but it worked B4.

Oh dear, i downloaded the updated visionexpress and was quite excited creating the vcd but no luck

I just had 1 video file on the cd and a standard menu, but upon putting it on in teh dvd player the menu never appeared but like before i was able to select chapter 1 and play the video file ok

something else weird, the first cd i did (VCD) the video files played corrupt, but the 2nd cd i created straight after played the video perfect (again with no menus)

do the menus work for you on VisionExpress2? do they display on your dvd player

hmmmm, hmmmm

I'm afraid that they dont play on the standalone at all, only on the PC and they play fine. I can only create a VCD and not a SVCD (because of the capacity problem that is not possible).

I thought it to be a media problem but I found it to be a Nero 6 problem after XP-SP2, since I had created a VCD/SVCD with Nero 5.5.0.56 and SP1 no problems.

I keep at it though.
