I just need some opinions on what could be wrong with my process of converting VHS tapes to DVD.
Here's my process:
I am capturing the video into my PC with the AverMedia DVD EZMaker USB2.0 and saving them as MPEG 2 files.
I have tried two different programs to capture/edit the MPEG 2 files -- a)Roxio and b)Neo.
Note: the MPEG2 files are fine to be played on the PC, so the problem isn't with the MPEG2/video files.
The Blank DVDs I have tried are a)Imation DVD+R and b)Platinum DVD+R.
Anyway, I go thru the whole process of burning the MPEG2 files onto a DVD (which, as you all know takes a lot of time) and it says it has burned successfully.
When I go to play the DVD in the DVD player, it doesn't work. Plus, when I try to play the burned DVD on the PC, it doesn't work as well.
*NOTE: I HAVE had success with burning 3 DVDs early on (1 DVD of my kids and 2 of old football game). So, I know the DVD player CAN read DVD+R disks, and I know this process CAN work.
I have probably gone thru 10 blank DVDs that when placed in the DVD player, it can't read.
COULD THE PROBLEM BE:
A)BAD BLANK DVDS? Again, I tried 2 different brands of blank DVDs and both did not work.
B)BAD DVD BURNER?
Anyone else have this problem? I'm about to start breaking stuff!!HAVE
