    question from a beginner......

I've been trying to burn ripped dvds to dvd-r's . I've tryed DVDdecoder and DVDshrink. I had the most luck ripping with DVDshrink. Anyway, once I get dvd's ripped, I can't get them to burn right. The best success I've had is that the burned dvd-r's will play on my computer but not on any other dvd player. I'm using Nero to burn with...... Am I burning these wrong, or should I try a different burning software?

When you're burning with Nero are you burning them in DVD-Video mode or just burning the files straight to the disc?

The important thing to make sure is that you put all the DVD-video files into a folder called VIDEO_TS.

Thanks. I was just copy/pasting the files inside the VIDEO_TS folder. It's also telling me that I'm not using the Dvd-Video compilation type. What does that mean?

You might want to read this guide:

Burning using Nero as a separate step:

Make sure that your version is updated - early versions are reported to be buggie.
