    USB1.1 vs. 2.0

I am using a digital video converter that has a harware encoder, but the audio and video are way out of sync. I think it may be that I am only using USB 1.1. If I upgrade to USB 2.0 High Speed will it fix the problem. The higher quality, the more it is off.

I'd say the USB 2.0 speed will definitely help. Also what type of audio do you have ie an audio card or onboard audio on the motherboard.

I think it is onboard audio, I'm pretty sure. Though, if I plug the device into another port that is on the back, it works better. I was using one of the ports on the front of the case, but if I use one of the ones on the back, there is less/no problem.

well......more or less....i can get by....Hey, did you know you can pick up a small PCA card with USB2 ports that slip into the card slot on the outside of your computer for around $20 at Best Buy or Circuit City? The data transfer speed of USB2 can make a world of difference.

What do you mean the outside card slot? I might get that!

Most computers built after 2000 have external slots that'll accept cards for wireless networking, i-link and USB2 ports.

Geeze....you forced me to hunt up my computer manual. Haven't done that in a while. My Sony VAIO manual has it listed as a "PC Card Slot". I have a Belcan dual port USB2 card in now...and a Sprint wireless internet connect card available...in case I want to be online in the middle of the lake fishing.

does the off-sync happen on the captured video or during capture preview as well?

If I understand your question, the audio is fine while I watch it during the capture, but when it is reviewed from my harddrive, it is out of sync.
