    Unsupported format

I have just installed a Lite On DVD drive with Power DVD 5 onto my wifes PC. Hewlett Packard Pentium III. (1 year old)
When I try to play a DVD an error message comes up...Unsupported format in drive E

I presume the machine has a factory video card installled.
Or do I have to install a 3rd party video card?

Is it a commercial (pressed) DVD or a burned DVD that you or someone else made?

Thanks for the reply. The shop said the drive was dead and installed a new one...only thing now is I can see a DVD but have no audio, that includes system sounds!

        Hello

Is it possible when you installed your drive, you disconnected some cable from your mobo inadvertedly?

Maybe it's worth taking the time looking if all is connected.

Another good things is to look at your sound card properties and make sure it's not set on mute.
