what is the deal with m2v video files / can I easily make a SVCD ?

    Hello,
Someone gave me some music video files in .m2v file format and I was curious can I make a SVCD out of these files? If so how?
Do I have to convert these .m2v files FIRST into something else or can I just put them on a CDR and create a SVCD ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Sorry new to this and hoping I can create a SVCD with these .m2v files

The extender ".M2V" is usually applied to an MPEG2-format video-only (no audio) file, which can be multiplexed with an appropriate audio file, using software such as TMPGEnc, to create an MPEG2-SuperVideoCD (SVCD) file.
