is this a multi-region DVD player?

I'll try here since I didn't get an answer elsewhere. I bought an Oritron DVD720 DVD player last year from Kmart and am wondering if anyone knows if this is a multi-region DVD player - will it play DVDS made in England?
    Thanks

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

The following comment from another site would appear to indicate that it's NOT multi-regional:

"800-726-3801 # and they were no help. He told me the player was a region 1 and disks were not"

No it isnt but you can make it be one...

      Region Enablement:

      (with NO disc in player)
      MENU
      1
      6
      7
(then specify the region code 1 through 6, or MUTE for region 0)

      Another hack

This feature locks and unlocks the DVD drive to prevent opening and closing. Powering off and on did not undo this feature.

      Press "Menu"
      Press "2"
      Press "4"
      Press "6"

Then Press "1" to unlock dealer lock
also, after this its possible use " enable vcd" hack

I have no idea if it works but try it and see.

hi, thank u for your help. Do you really think your first suggestion might work on my DVD player cause I'd hate to buy the DVD, try your suggestion and find I can't play it. Know what I mean? Thanks again for any help from anyone.

"cause I'd hate to buy the DVD"

What DVD title is it, that's not available as Region 1 (U.S. - NTSC)?

                To Floppy

Per "patty's" intial post - "I bought an Oritron DVD720 DVD player last year from Kmart and am wondering if anyone knows if this is a multi-region DVD player - will it play DVDS made in England?"

I don't think it can be any more clear that "patty" wants to know if Region 2 DVDs will play in this standalone DVD payer that "patty" ALREADY OWNS...

@ setarip: I get a feeling that I am something of a inconvinience to yourself, some of your comments are some what patronizing, not just here but other threads...

If you got a problem with me then maybe it is time to resolve it in a civil manner....

Remember if you will please, like you I do this after work and after very long days tireness afects us all...

As for the matter at hand, right you are, patty means wouldnt wanna buy the DVD region 2 if it dont play on her DVD player...

The question is if the hack works how will Patty ever find out if she doesn try a region 2 film on?

Maybe encoding one DVD to region 2 will do the trick...

                    to Floppy and all

thanks to all that are trying to help me - that's a good idea, Floppy, how would I encode a Region 1 DVD that I now have to Region 2, therefore finding out if Region 2 DVDs will work on my player? Cany anyone help?

The first thing this requires is that you have a DVD burner as part of your system. Do you?

I don't think I have a dvd burner, could it be on the dvd player itself? Pretty sure I don't have one
