backup plays fine on computer/scrambles on dvd

I'm backing up a newer movie to dvd. It plays on the computer, but not on my DVD player. I've backed up another movie, just fine. The scenes are scrambled. It starts with the end credits then jumps around...chapter 14, chapter 5,etc. Any ideas?

    "Any ideas?"

It would be beneficial if you'd state what software and exact procedures you are using...

And EXACTLY what procedures did you use in Roxio?

Were ALL of the DVD files (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) placed in a folder named (ALL capitals) "VIDEO_TS"?

Used Creator Classic. Selected the movie's Video_TS file and burned. All the files are on the disc (and in correct order.) The disc plays fine in the computer, but when I put it in the living room player, the scenes are out of order. I have done the same exact thing with another movie and it worked fine.

"All the files are on the disc and in correct order"

Again, were ALL of the DVD files (.IFOs, .BUPs, .VOBs) placed in a folder named (ALL capitals) "VIDEO_TS" on the burned DVD? (The "VIDEO_TS" FOLDER is NOT the same as the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" FILE)

VIDEO_TS IS BURNED ON THE DISK. THERE ARE ISO, BUP, VOB FILES. THE MOVIE IS TERMINAL.
I LOOKED AT THE ONE MOVIE I BURNED CORRECTLY...WEST SIDE STORY AND IT LOOKS THE SAME TO ME.

All I can tell you is that I used DVD Shrink and NERO to backup the Region 1 DVD of "The Terminal" (Full Disk Copy) with no playback problems on multiple standalone DVD players and computers...

(Perhaps you should try using NERO instead of Roxio)
