          "Power calibration error"

Your burner doesn't "like" the brand/format of burnable media.

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your DVD burner, as well as media compatibility, go to:
http//www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters (If necessary, open the Device Manager in the Control Panel to determine the make and model number)

I have tried a different type no good though didnt work .
I went to the site you gave me ...kinda hard for me to understand but I figured out a little bit. do you think I should try something called fiirmwear ? do I add that to my softwear or something?
I have a stack of 50 discs (infosmartDVD-R) are they completely worthless to me now? I also had a few philips DVR+R but that one didnt work either. BTW my burner is a Optorite DVD RW DD0405

You already have the latest firmware - but it do not cover your current used media.
