    hm now 2 practical questions.
i capture with virtual vcr (cos i heard this prog is fine if you use wdm-drivers).

and i capture about 50mins and then the audio is some seconds delayed to the video! is there a solution for this with virtual vcr??

i have only sound on board. settings: pcm 44,1khz/16bit/stereo.

should i try it with different audio-settings?

      A) If the difference between audio and video is constant throughout the video:

Load the file into VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video"(VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod and NanDub) and "Audio" (VirtualDub and NanDub - VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream list") to "Direct Stream Copy".
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving" (For VirtualDubMOD, rightclick on the listed audiostream and then select "Interleaving")
Under "Audio skew correction", set an appropriate number of milleseconds (positive or negative) in the box labelled "Delay audio track by"
      Save with a new filename

      B) If the difference increases as the movie plays:

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" - and select "Change so video and audio durations match"

      Let us know of your success ;>}

i didn't tried it yet, cos i think the problem is another one.

this i found out in the last minutes >>

in my capture video the sound fits exactly with the video until about 10-11 minutes (then the delay starts)! and exactly at about 10-11 minutes the file becomes greater than 4gb. and i think that could be the problem, because i know that windows has problems with .avi bigger than 4gb (mine is 12,7gb). i have ntfs formatted hd! so maybe the file is too big and windows makes problems then?

i know how to separate the .avis when i capture with virtual dub. but as i said i capture with virtual vcr. how is it possible not to get bigger files than 4gb with virtual vcr?

if u dont think that the problem comes, cos the files are too big then please explain how to make ur B) hint exactly.
i open the video file > video > frame rate > then the specific setting
and then? (i am a noob in using vdub, sorry)

I should expect to find a 'split file' option somewhere in the menus
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

ok i found out thats it's not the problem that the files are too big. because i use ntfs and in ntfs the file size doesn't matter!

            but it's crazy though!

i captured 20minutes of a movie and the audio and video-streams fitted exactly (no delay)
now i tried another movie (which i wanted to capture in fact) and there are many secondes delay between audio/video!

why? and should i activate or deactivate the automatic resampling for audio in virtual vcr and then change the frame rate in vdub (so that audio and video fit).

If your system is fast enough, try using a DivX codec for capturing - so that your initial filesize will be MUCH smaller...
