    Pioneer DV-535 wont play cds

    Can anyone help me

My DVD player, a standalone tv top Pioneer wont play CDs , VCDs or SVCDs, even though it is supposed to.

It wont play genuine CDs either, even though i knew it used to.

It says loading, makes a wizzing noise, trys to read then opens the tray.

Ive tried cleaning the lazer lense, no help.

It plays DVDs flawlessly, nevr skips a beat.

3 to 4 years old with not much use, im picking its not worn out.

    Any ideas anyone?

When you did the CD Lens Cleaner how were you able to do so?

CD Lens Cleaners are CD Audio (CDA) Tracks and if you were able to hear the instruction on Track 1 that says to forward to either track 2 or 3 for the Brush then it sounds like perhpas the CD Audio (music) that you were using is scratch beyond reading its media type.
    Cheers!

I pulled the machine apart and used a cloth, it looked clean to start with.

perhaps i should try again with a bit of cleaning fluid

tried cleaning it with solution, still no good.

its strange, it plays dvds real well, but doesnt seem to pick up cds

oh well, must be a fault with player, its 4 years old and my ex wife purchased an expensive extended warranty with it (5 years) so they should have to honour it i guess.

cost NZ$800 dollars all up then, now theyre a dime a dozen.

Yes - although you might consider buying a new, inexpensive drive...

I have the same problem with a Wharfedale 750. Have you found a solution?

Sorry, I have not found a solution.

I am going to take it back under warranty, when I can get into town during the week.
