If you wish to convert an "Entire" DVD to a single mpeg file, then I would use "DVD2AVI" (free) to make a "Project File" that can easily be "Frameserved" to "TMPGEnc"/ "TMPGEnc Plus" (shareware) for conversion to an mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 file.

What if I want to only take a portion and convert it to an editable file? And is the format that I want it in to edit MPEG2 format?

"What if I want to only take a portion and convert it to an editable file?"

Then use "DVD Shrink" in "Re-author" mode to cut out the specific section you want and then use the method that I outlined in my last post.

          Last question

Thanks for all your help. Two last things; What is FRAMESERVED? and is there a good tutorial or help manual for TMPGEnc? (and I assume the PLUS version is the one that costs and the other one is free? Thanks again.

            "What is FRAMESERVED?"

Frameserving is using one utility to decode or read a video file and then, after it has been decoded, sending it straight to any other video editing or encoding application.

"is there a good tutorial or help manual for TMPGEnc?"

The information is fairly basic - visit this link:

            "Thanks for all your help."

            Glad to be of help

              Plugin ?

Sorry but one more question. I still don't know where I can get a free download Panasonic premiere plugin version v2.1 as noted in the installation directions for DVD2MPG. Thanks once again.
