Questions of burn status log- Calibration area full....

When i burn my dvd, I get a " calibration area full" and " writing short lead-out" in my burn status log. I'm not sure if anything is happening. Any help would be appreciated.

Gonna need a bit more information there .. like,
    application you're using,
    media brand and type,
    Operating System,
    writer model and firmware version.

Two further questions, is DMA on for your burner and hard drive and have you burned successfully at all?

Sorry, I am very new to this. I will list what i think that you will need to help me.
The application is the latest dvd shrink. the OS is windows xp professional. The firmware version is G7H9. My burner is an Altec - ATAPi DVD DD 2X16X4X16. However, before the Altec ( i switched out the burners because i thought it might be a hardware issue), I had a Toshiba. I do not remember the model. The problem first started on my Toshiba when i was trying to burn starwars part V ( i bought the trilogy) and encountered a copyright protection. I used the dvd encryption and from then on i was not able to burn anything. Hopefully that will be able to help you help me. Thanks.

For info on DMA check out http://www.mrbass.org/dvdnewbie/#2

Failing this, this old thread might help; http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...threadid=39815

Can you no longer backup movies you succeeded with before?
Are you using ReWritables to save making coasters?
