Perfect burn no movie unknown disc on dvd player

I burn constantly using shrink. Now I get a completed burn but no movie. My apex sony panasonic and toshiba keeps saying unknown disc. Did I get a bad bathch of disc or did I do something wrong. Ritek/ridata has always worked well for me. If it is the media anyone know of a good not expensive dvd-r media.

Its not the brand or quality of media I don't think. Its a compatibility issue. Are you sure that your DVD player supports the format of media you are using? (format - DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW)

        To MOVIEMAN

Does the problematic burned DVD play properly on your PC, using a software DVD player such as WinDVD or PowerDVD for playback?

Thanks for the response setarip. Iam a junior member and I come to this forum to learn. However, its the simple things that are overlooked. Too all that tried to help me do you know I had a 50 pack of ritek coasters sent to me. All fifty I could set my beer on. Now they dont want to exchange them for me because it was over the 30 warranty by one day. I would normally put ritek at the top of the list but not anymore. I only stumbled on the answer by using a old memorex dvd-rw I had. It worked fine. Ran out and bought some sony. It worked fine. Put one of the riteks in, perfect burn, dvd player said unknown disc. thanks for your help I do appreciate it. ........... Also in another forum they said the lables make your movies have read errors because they are too heavy or get old and make the dvd wobble. Its true. took the lable off and cleaned it up. It works great.........Anyone have a suggestion on a inexpensive dvd media besides ritek.

Verbatim, they are good. You don't have to take my word for it if you don't want to.

I want to take someones word and give them a try. and being you have been around awhile Ill take your advise. Besides if they dont work I can always let you know about it. I try all kinds of garbage every now and then to see what is what. the only reason I havent tried the verbatim is because I saw it in circuit city. Usually I wont get something that is in the stores
