If you just want to cut (edit) out a section or clip of a already authored commercial DVD. Just use the "Start/End Frames" button in re-author mode of DVD Shrink.

Ok, so I took the two parts out...

I ended up with .VOB/.BUP/.IFO files.
How do I burn these to CD as Mpegs?

What is your overall goal ? To make a new DVD with just the "Clips" or "Section" you want?

Take out clips from dvd and convert it in a format that is easily viewable (mpeg) without buying any software to view them. Since mpegs or avi's can pretty much be viewed as long as you have Windows.

Video editing is not my expertise although, I do know alittle about it. I suggest you wait till a more knowledgeable person (such as setarip) comes along that can assist you.

I had a similar dilemma a while back. Some had made a home DVD of my wife and I ballroom dancing. I wanted to combine this one with a video we had a friend shoot as well.
The easiest way I found was with a program called MPEG Editor from the same makers as TMPGEnc. It is not free but allows you to select the portion of the DVD you want and convert it directly to MPEG.

                      TMPGEnc,tmpg,mpg,mpeg,encoder,TMPG,tmpgenc,video,DVD-Video,AVI,movie,movies,editor,edit
