Help needed for getting TV out working

    Hi,
    I have a GeForce 2MX GPU 64MB Sdram, w/TV out.
I've been using the RCA plug to my TV, and my VCR on different occaisions.

First Question... I'm having trouble getting TV out to work 100% effectively. I can get my background of my desktop to the TV, but no DVD's, or other things, like Icons, Media Player, etc.
Any suggestions? I haven't tried TV Tool yet. I've only gotten the background image by using the RCA hookup to the TV, and VCR - neither got me the DVD player I really wanted.

Second Question... Since I'm a newby, and my main objective in all of this is to just rent DVD's and watch them on my TV (not the small computer screen), is the S-Cable really much better for picture/sound quality? Is it worth the $20 bucks Radio Shack wants for the cable?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm curious to know if you're getting the full desktop image on your TV or just a part of it. If you're gettin the full thing, then not being ablt to see the icons is really weird. If you're not getting the full image but just a part of it then maybe you have too high a resolution set so the icons are cut out?. The tv will only show 640x480 or some will show 800x600. If you're using the twin view then both your monitor and TV will have to be the same resolution. Also try and get a macrovision remover program or it will have copy gaurd and you won't be able to use TVout with DVDs.

      Thanks for the reply...

Since I posted the first time, I have tried the TV Tool, and Although it looks that I have some "tweaking" to do (get some color into it), I should have the whole desktop there.

So is the S-cable worth the extra quality? What does everyone think?

      Thanks,
