    burn dvd on a normal cd

    if i have a movie that is only 300mb can i burn it on a 700mb cd as a dvd and run it on a dvd? (i don't have a dvd burner, only a normal one)

    You can make a VCD, which you can burn with just a CD burner. And depending on your DVD player, it might be able to play VCD's.

    Check out vdchelp for more information regarding VCD's.

    VCD stands for 'Video Compact Disc' and basically it is a CD that contains moving pictures and sound. If you're familiar with regular audio/music CDs, then you will know what a VCD looks like.

      You can make what's called a mini-dvd, but I doubt it will play in your standalone.
      Better off with VCD as jmet has suggested.

        VERY, VERY few standalone DVD players can play the "mini-DVD" (DVD format burned to a CD) referred to by "reboot" (Although it WILL play on your PC)...

            Nope, well mine can't any way. Not real sure about the miniDVD, but I highly doubt it.
