What DVD software required?

I recently received an IBM ThinkPad 600X donated to my non-profit organization; running Windows 2000 Professional. The DVD drive is a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2302. It will read CD's but will not read a DVD data disk or show a DVD movie or instructional video.

The error message reads: There is no Windows 2000 compatible DVD decoder installed...

What software do I need to recognize DVD's? Thank you.

Try downloading and installing "VideoLAN"
