    Nandub encoding help.....

howdi all....i used the settings shown on this site in terms of how to convert mpeg to DivX but when i do run the program, as im trying to reduce the size from 1.3Gb Mpeg to a smaller DivX, it states that it takes more than 2 days of leaving the pc on to convert it.

Is there any better and faster way?

    cheers

It all depends on how many filters you have decided to use for the encoding process, how long the movie is and how much processing power you have. Any details you could share with us?

      Info...?

what kind of info...coz i followed exactly the same settings as the nandub instructions stated. What settings do u think r important in order to get a slightly smaller file coz 1.25Gb mpeg is 2 big as the divx with those settings is still over 1 Gb.

What do u mean by what kind of filters?

      cheers

Can you post the details of your encoding procedures here instead? Then I can start talking.

          Settings Used...in nandub

Howdi Enchanter...these are the settings i use in nandub to convert mpeg to divX.

          Under Preferences-->Scene--->Interframe: 215 (cut)
          64 (fade)

          Multiplier: 35

          Under DivX: Bitrate: 1000Kbps
          Keyframe interval: 9999
          Minumum Allowed Bitrate: 600
          Inrternal SCD: 100%
          Space KFs: 50
          Antishit: Threshold: 120 dB

          Under Motion Detection: Span: 8
          Sensitivity: 3
          Fats Motion:200
          Slow Motion: 300
          Cripiness: 30%
          Enabled BR Moduation.

All Compression levels set to 300.

          Under Bitrate and Reseviour:

          Compression: 20%
          Smoother: 3%
          Highpass: 600
          Lowpass:2000
          Luma Correction selected.
          Threshold: 10
          End Credits Frame: 0
          KF Boost:2%

          Gauge Min: 40% Max: 100% Start:100%

          Playback Delay: 45 secs.

After doing all this i save as avi, but it like takes 2 *24hrs to convert a 1.3Gb MPEG File (Long Kiss Goodnight) and not much file size difference, Predicted size says size willl be 1.1Gb. Is there any fater way and smaller file settings.

          Cheers

These settings shouldn't affect the speed at which the encoding takes place. What fps do you get whenever you're encoding? ANd have you got any filters loaded?

Also, what is your CPU speed again?
