Hey whats up people.. Im new to this forum and im posting this because im having a problem with backing up my DVDs. I have the latest versions of dvd shrink and nero burner. I have a 16x double layer DVD burner. Heres the problem, after DVD shrink finishes analyzing the DVD it starts to burn it automatically. All the sudden the burning speed slowed down to 1x burning (im using 4x DVD-R discs). I went into the burn settings and it only says 1x speed or maximum. Even on the maximum burn setting it still only burns at 1x speed. it used to say in the drop down menu in the burn settings: maximum speed. 1x. 2x. 3x. and 4x. now those options are gone and it only says 1x and maximum. I just recently bought some 8x DVD+R discs and now it says maximum speed or 2.4x. I uninstalled nero and dvd shrink and reinstalled it and still have the same results. now this just happened out of nowhere. it was working perfectly fine then I dropped in a new disc and it did this. Has Anyone had this problem before? Can anyone point me in the right direction of trying to fix this or give me some feedback? Thanks a lot in advance.
Burn Speed really slow

Update your firmware - see my sig.
Also, is your version of Nero a demo version? If it is, after 30 days or so, it reduces to 1x.

Ooh ok. That must be my problem Im using the trial version right now. and im pretty sure Ive had it for longer then 30 days. BTW with that said, with the 8x DVD+R would that still be the problem? Because with the 8x discs its burning at 2.4x speed. Thanks a lot for the reply.Comment

Perhaps. But do update your firmware - it's almost the first rule of buying a new burner.
