4 VHS movies on 1 DVD

I heard a rumour that it's possible to store several VHS quality movies on 1 DVD without losing any quality. Apparently, this is possible because the VHS movie only has 1 soundtrack and that there's no need to sample at high quality because VHS movies are already bad quality.

    1) Is this true???
    2) How would I go about achieving this?
    3) Are there any guides available on the internet?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

The amount of video you desire to store on your dvd, is dependent on the degree of compression. If your vhs source is of low quality, then you may be able to fit/store several hours of video onto a dvd, without any noticable deterioration in quality.

Your dvd writer would contain software for authoring to dvd. You would capture the vhs to your computer, and then using the dvd software convert it to a dvd format. For guides on the internet, do a search on google.com.

For detailed information, consult your dvd writer manual and help section of the software.

vcdhelp.com contains information on vhs capture, and on dvd's. There are four different types of formats, not all of which are recognized by the conventional dvd players. Be sure to get the right.
