Help me on this Avi Format!!!!!

Help!!! These avi files are not playing on my Windows media player. Whenever i play one, it says opening media, then it says locating codec server, then it says connecting codec server, then it says unable to connect with server or code not found. Then it just plays the sound and NO VIDEO!! which is not good. I must have installed as many codecs that i could find on the net. What could be missing???

Open the file in Virtualdub and use File Information. Post what you read here.

In the meantime, I suggest making sure that 3.11a is installed, followed by 4.x/5.x. Also, when WMP is locating the codec, were you online so that it can connect to a server (Not that it will succeed in finding the right codec, I'm sure)?
