    video to dvd

hi there i was wondering if anyone could give me some in fo about copying video to dvd,i am thinking of getting a dvd recorder and have alot of videos that i would like to copy onto this format,is it just a case of connecting the 2 using a scart cable, like if you connect 2 video recorders together,or is it more technical,i know all about macrovision but i have a machine that wipes out this problem,so any help would be great cheers alan

When I asked about "format", I was referring to .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise), MPEG1, MPEG1 VideoCD, MPEG2, MPEG2 SuperVideoCD, .MOV, etc...

Assuming VHS, because the OP says, "it just a case of connecting the 2 using a scart cable"...
          Just connect them.
If you're aware of macrovision, you'll have to get some sort of tbc or video processor to go between the two.
