    IDE Channel Problem

I thought my burning was going a little slow so deleted my IDE Channels so I could select the DMA mode burning. I had done this before a couple times and it has always worked fine, but now everytime I start my computer it brings up the message that the hardware device could not be installed and I cant get it to reinstall so I get the message for both channels everytime I start my computer and I need to know what I can do to make it stop. Both my dvd drive and burner are running perfectly fine now, but it still wont stop popping up saying it cant be installed.

If your OS is Windows XP, simply do a system restore back to a time when things were working properly.

I did system restore, still didn't put them back on my computer. What do you mean system bios? Could you dumb down your response a little for me?

Ensure you are using the latest drivers for your hardware

Many systems bios have settings controlling the way the main board operates. Your IDE channels may be disabled within these setting. Consult the manual or go to the web site of the manufacturer of the main board for details.
