    Slow Ripping Speed

    Hi,

I am really hoping that somebody can help me because I'm at a lost.

I have been using a Liteon DVD/CD-RW to rip my DVD's with DVD Shrink. The Liteon would extract the DVD very fast. Often time, less than 10 minutes. It was great and I was happy with the results.

For the past few days, I've been ripping my CD's into MP3's with the same drive. The drive got dropped from DMA. So, I had to uninstall the IDE controller and enabled DMA for my DVD Rom.

It still able to rip CD's fast, but when I try to rip DVD using DVD Shrink, it is taking much longer to rip the DVD.

It takes at least 30 minutes now to rip a DVD.

How can I get my fast ripping speed back??

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    welcome to the forum

after removing/uninstalling your ide controller from the device manager, did the dma/pio settings change back to "dma" ?

the best way to do this is to "uninstall" ide controller, & then "restart" your pc. windows will/should re-detect them with the correct u/dma settings.
