definitely firewire, as it is a completely lossless (no loss in quality) transfer
as far as i know, you cannot transfer video from a cam corder to pc through s-video unless you have a capture card.
to do the transfer, i recommend a nice little program called "windv". the software and a guide to using it can be found at http://www.doom9.orgLast edited by anonymez; 1 Jun 2005, 09:20 PM. -
whats better
It is possible to transfer video via s-video to your dvd burner or computer. My dad's Dell laptop has an s-video connection, and so does his dvd burner (his laptop also has a dvd burner, but this burner is connected to out tv). So his laptop has a firewire connection that he can connect to his camcorder, as well as a usb port which he can connect to his s-video connection on his camcorder, as well as an s-video connection which he can also connect to his s-video connection on his camcorder.
I am just wondering what connection is the fastest, and which has the better quality, and if different connections will make different file sizes. I know when he connected through his s-video on his camcorder to his usb via a special cord it made .avi, and the videos were very large in size (one DV catridge was too large for one DVD). I think he uses just some software that came with the camcorder (I don't know if you can transfer the video into different format than avi).
Thanks for any advice.Comment
