    bad .sub file??

I have a .avi and corresponding subtitle file .sub and .idx

I am attempting to make a DVD with subtitles, but there are problems with the .sub file

When I play the .avi in WMP, VobSub opens automatically and plays the subtitles fine. I can view the subtitles fine in some programs such as vobsub and SubRip. I CANNOT open the files with DVD2SVCD (AVI2DVD) or VirtualDub, when I attempt to create an .avi or mpeg2 with forced subtitles.

the error I get in AVI2DVD (I go to add subtitle file in the pulldown menu "GO-> add external subtitle stream") is "list index out of bounds (0)"

when I try to load the subtitles in VirtualDub using Filters -> add -> textsub 2.33, it cant load the file,, the OK button remains greyed out.

Am i going to have to create a whole new .sub from scratch?

Welcome to the Digital Video Forums of Digital Digest!

Per the docuimentation included in the "VOBSub" package:

"The interface dlls are for ...
    ... VirtualDub: vobsub_vd.vdf
    ... AviUtl: vobsub_au.auf
... Avisynth: vobsub.dll (no need to copy it anywhere, Avisynth can load this from the system folder when no path is specified)"

    Do you have these installed?
