It's strange that an uncompressed AVI file is unplayable. And how come the file has the name [DivX] already when it does not seem to be compresses at all? Can Virtualdub play it?

I have already deleted that file and downloded real DivX file. Now when I am converting into VCD with TEMPG it is taking long time. For Half of the file it was shoing it needs 46 hours.I left whole night and day but still it is converting.I selected property "Highest quality(Very slow) is causing this slow convertion. But earlier I already did the same thing with other files but it never take that much time to convert the Half of Original DivX file.Any Idea?

      Thanks.

I'd firstly download a codec pack like Nimo or Ace, as a lot of the time info pages for movie files will give total crap if you don't have the codec installed.

Try uninstalling your all your MP3 codecs for example then open a movie in Virtual Dub and select File Information. You will see that the audio codec section says something like TAG 0055 or what ever. Install the Codecs again and though and behold Virtual Dub knows what it was encoded with.

For codec packs go here: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/index.html#codecs
