    Fixes for Corrupted Video

Not sure if General is the best forum for this, so feel free to move me if not. I'm having a problem with some WMV files that I've joined together. Each file played perfectly when they were seperate. I used the AVI/MPEG/RM/WMV Joiner to make the files into one large video. Like a dummy, I assumed everything had worked and deleted the original seperate files. Now, the video starts to play well, but at several points throughout the video freezes and advances only a couple of frames for 30 seconds or so while audio continues uninterrupted. Eventually, the video kicks back in and begins to move. This happens at random points throughout the file, with no correlation to where the files where originally divided.

I've also discovered that when I play the files with DivX instead of WM player 10, instead of freezing, the video continues to move but becomes pixelated. At the point where the frames advanced while playing the file in WM player, they become clear in DivX, but then get pixelated again. At the point where they began to run smoothly in WM player, they do the same in DivX. So all the data is there. It's just been corrupted somehow. Is there any software or tool I can use to fix these files? Suggestions appreciated.

try to use windows movie maker to open and then save the files as they wree before seperated. then rejoin again using same. try to use moviemaker 2 or xp -sp2 which has same builtin.
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
