      no. you have to re-encode to get a true conversion. Their are some things you can try. Some work some don't. Dvdpatcher uses the header trick to make a pal look like NTSC. Dgpulldown is another you can try. I have used the Dvdpatcher with success and it's real easy to use.

        I stumbled upon the greatest and most easy to use ALL-in-ONE program for PAL to NTSC conversion... it will encode, author and burn to DVD. In my particular situation, my AVI's and MPG's were recorded in PAL format and I wasn't able to view on a DVD machine. I used INTERVIDEO WINDVD CREATOR 2


        now this is ALL i need to use!
