Hello,,,Im a major newb and hope somebody can help me out. I apologize if this is posted in the wrong area, if so let me know and I will repost it elsewhere.
My question is about getting a .VOB file into Avi or mpeg format while still keeping audio intact. I have played with dvd2avi and I can get it to work but apparently this does not include sound in the file. I really do not want to have to start working in multiple programs if I dont have too. Im simply converting some old VHS family movies (converted them to .VOB as this seems to be the best quality) and am trying to get them in a good quality format. I am using Avermedia to rip the vhs stuff,,I can rip it directly to mpeg 2 but its as big a file as a DVD file, so I felt i may as well go with the one that seemingly looks better. If there were a good program for getting mpeg down in size maybe that would be an option as well.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
