Does it happen with both MPEG1 and MPEG2 files or only MPEG2?

ok, well that is not a dvd-compliant mpg-2 file, which is why you want to convert it right?

what step by step procedures are you using?

which version of tmpgenc? (plus)? and again, are you using the wizard?

Are you able to actually play the file on your computer through something like Windows Media Player? In TMPGEnc, go to Option - Environmental Setting... and click the VFAPI tab. Check to see if there are any MPEG-2 decoders listed.

you need an mpeg-2 decoder, i use cyberlink....

since your setting up a new system, there is other useful things here as well as an mpeg-2 decoder.

don't see an mpeg-2 decoder in the list, did you install that package, go through some sort of set-up?

Doesn't TMPGEnc require that you purchase THEIR MPEG2 plugin?
