ok, well that is not a dvd-compliant mpg-2 file, which is why you want to convert it right?
what step by step procedures are you using?
which version of tmpgenc? (plus)? and again, are you using the wizard?Last edited by LT. Columbo; 11 Aug 2005, 06:39 AM."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". Jack The Ripper - 1888

Are you able to actually play the file on your computer through something like Windows Media Player? In TMPGEnc, go to Option - Environmental Setting... and click the VFAPI tab. Check to see if there are any MPEG-2 decoders listed.Comment

Codec
I think i found it.........under the Environmental settings, there is not mpeg 2 decoder listed...what is the best codec for this...all i have on my computer for video is the FFDSHOWComment

you need an mpeg-2 decoder, i use cyberlink....
since your setting up a new system, there is other useful things here as well as an mpeg-2 decoder.
