Loop

Hi Folks.

Does anyone know how to put a loop on a dvd you have created so that when the dvd ends it auto plays again. I know you can use the repeat function on your dvd player but I am wondering is it possible to put a signal on the disk to do this because this is a promo. disk and I don't want to risk the chance of who ever presses "play" not pressing "repeat" function.

You can do this in Pgcedit.

See my example. I put a goto line 3 command in to make it play title 1 over and over again.



Highlight "Jump to play firstPGC" and right mouse click. Select add after.

On NOP, right mouse click and select edit cmd.

Select alphabetically and choose GoTo.

Type in the line number for "Jump to title 1". In my example it is line 3.

Save DVD and play it in DVD Software.

I don't know what authoring software you used but Tmpgenc dvd author gives you the choice of what you want the authored dvd to do when it finishes playing

I do not think that will work Command 4 will never be executed because command 3 jumps out of the PGC in any instance.

What is needed is the first POST command in title 1 to exactly mirror the following:

 
[30 08 00 00 00 00 00 00] 1 (CallSS) Call the First Play PGC

this is true, "menu display settings" "play next track (loop mode)"

It does work as that is taken from a looping DVD that loops forever if left.



I have just tried the TMPGEnc DVD Author method and it doesn't work. It doesn't loop when there is only one title. The loop mode works after the next title (or titles) are played.

Sorry nwg - but have a look at the nav command in FP PGC, mate.

1. Sets a register to 0
2. Ors it with 3 (result 3)
3. Jumps (unconditionally) to title 1.

You need something to return to FP-PGC to get this going again.

It does work though. I had it looping about 15 times in total.

Downloaded Pgcedit,no problems, thanks for that.
Got it sorted, but the "goto line" command would not work for me.
I noticed when I ran trace on the original that the final line had an "End" command.
So I changed that to "(jumpSS) jump to first play PGC" and ran trace
again and it ran fine, in a loop.
