STAY AWAY FROM FUJI DVDs MADE IN TAIWAN

I know... it's been said before that disks made in Taiwan are not that good. But that's all the wholesale club had. Who knew they could be this bad.

I'd had very good luck with Fuji disks made in Japan but the Taiwan disks have visible defects.... especially along the outer rim where the dye didn't spread evenly.

And to think that Fuji is moving all production to Taiwan.

Guess I won't be buying their kludge any more.

Anyone hear anything about Sony -R 8X disks? Again they are made in Taiwan but I'm getting PIE rates so low it blows me away.

it's what i've been using the last couple months. ID 08d1

i burn at 4x, made about 80 burns so far, haven't had a single glitch on any so far. very good discs.

Gee, my Riteks R03 are Taiwanese and are just fantastic. Maybe you just gotta bad batch.

I don't like FUJI's - had problems burning those at slower speeds. If I burned them at 8x as they where rated - they worked. But not on slower speeds - just got writing errors.

Thanks for that article. That's what I bought.

The PIE tests have been most impressive... averaging about 10-15 with a slight spike on the rim... but that was only about 30. (full disk at 4x burn). Maybe I'll try burning at higher speeds.

I have done 20 DVDs in 8x and I have not had a skip yet
