I have made several successful burns on dvd using DVD Shrink 3.2 but they were on dvd-r. Now i have tried dvd+r and they dont work on my dvd player (*Note the one for my tv) my brother has a friend that has made copyies for me but they work great on dvd+r and dvd+rw work great on my player but why not the dvd+r that i burn? I have cleaned the player and disks are not dirty or scratched and they work on other players (* ie my mom and dads & my brothers) but not my RCA DRC232N. I know that the player accepts the +- r and +-rw formats cause others that are burned the same ways as i burn em work. For example i copyed Shrek 2 on a dvd+r and it would not work so my brother took it to a friend at his work whom copyed it to disk and his copy will play on my player

Please let us know:
- The type and model of your burner and player
- The media ID code of the disks that won't play and the firmware version of the burner (see my sig)
Also, read the Golden Rules of Burning in my signature.
But, in general, when you've got stuff that works, stick to it.

why not just buy dvd-r's? i fail to see a real problem here....this is an incompatibility issue...nothing more."One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the 20th Century". Jack The Ripper - 1888

As for the burner type it is a Liteon DVD RW Drive LDW-411S , the media type that i am trying to use is Maxell DVD+R 1 - 8 X Speed 4.7GB disks. The player is a RCA DRC232N(*for a TV). As far as LT. Columbo's reply "why not just buy dvd-r's? i fail to see a real problem here....this is an incompatibility issue...nothing more." I had it in my original post that I have succesfully played DVD+R and DVD+RW in this player tht someone else has burned with same programs that i am using. I have used DVD-R and they worked i can burn the movies onto +RW and they work. Now something else that i forgot to mention is that the DVD-R will work after so long of it ejecting and me retrying by closing the bay and after a time it will work. But why is it that Someone elses burn works but not mine? The disks work on my parents and brothers player which is same model and make as mine. I find it strange and frustrating. I do appreciate Lt. Columbo for replying but unfortunately it is wrong to think it is a compatability issue seeing that all things are repeated as before and other DVD+rs do work and the player is rated for them.Comment

Yep, most likely the +R and +R/W's that work had their Bootype set to DVD-ROM, you can easily check the disks by opening them in DVDDecrypter. More info on Bitsetting can be found in the link in blutach's signature or just go here.
