Hi!!
I've just bought a Philips PBDV1628B DVD+RW Drive and a Safecom External caddy for my Sharp PC-GP2520 laptop. (P4 2.0GHz, 512Mb DDR)
As my laptop does not have IDE2.0 capabilities I am using the Firewire port to connect the DVD+RW drive.
The problem is that I can burn CD's, CD-RW's and read DVD's fine, but the burn fails when using Nero 6.3 when it gets to either 18% or 33%????? I am using brand new Memorex 1x-4x DVD+RW discs and have even swapped one of these for a Philips 1x-4x DVD+RW disc from a mate, to no avail
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 (which according to the Microsoft knowledge base should pick up the DVD+RW discs in the CD Writing Wizard, which it doesn't).
I've been on the Philips site to see if I can download a newer f/w but there's none available and have resorted to e-mailing the guys there to see if they can help.
Anyone got any idea's???
Cheers!!
