Hey, I have a 16x9 Sony LCD projo, and whenever I want to watch a movie I still get bars on the top and bottom of the movie. My dvd player is set to widescreen. I rented Kingdom of Heaven and I get bars on it, and it is supposed to be a anamorphic widescreen movie. Also I tried Sahara and the same thing happens, a widescreen movie on a widescreen tv and the bars are still there. Most of the widescreen movies that I do have give me the bars, some are backups and some are originals. What do I have wrong?
bars on a widescreen tv???

Hi kareem, May not be your exact model, but the same thing probably applies; read this.

Yes, the link I posted says you will still have black bars in FULL mode if the movie has an Aspect Ratio of 2:35 or higher since it stretches it to fit the width of the screen not the height. It is probably designed to fill the whole screen when playing 1:85 anamorphic movies.
Not sure what I'm talking about? Check out Widesreen-o-Rama at thedigitalbits.Last edited by Taelon; 4 Oct 2005, 01:27 AM.
