    Hi!

    If you made a subtitle-file yourself, you have to insert the time and the lenght for every text-line, so the player knows when and how long the text-line should displayed...

    there are a lot of different formats/syntaxs out there:

    .srt

    1
    00:01:24,223 --> 00:01:25,417
    Welcome to Miami.

    2
    00:01:25,663 --> 00:01:28,939
    While in the airport, please
    observe Florida laws...

    ---

    .sub

    {423}{557}16th July 1988 , Tokyo
    {1531}{1556}31 years after the|Third World War
    {1563}{1601}AD 2019 in New Tokyo
    {2071}{2157}AKIRA

    ---

    so it will be impossible for a long film to made it by hand.

    If you have already time-information with the text you can
    try to convert it with a tool named "Ultimate Subtitle Converter"
    it has a gui and allows you to trim and convert subtitles from and to different formats...

    Download Ultimate Subtitle Converter, a software for manipulating DivX subtitles
