MyDVD to Windows Movie Maker

Hi, i have a program called mydvd. it came with an adapter to i can get my analog footage of a camera and put it on the computer. well that doesnt work with that program so i wanted to no if i can use the same adapter with windows media player. i went to file and capture video and it syas that a video device is not recognized

what "adapter"did it come with? I would guess its a dazzle.
I havnt used mydvd since version 3.x,so I probably cant be too much help,but have you tried looking at the sonic/mydvd knowledge base?
