VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for Windows platforms. It is streamlined for fast linear operations over video.
change the audio to a .WAV file using Virtualdub. Load the file. Go to "video">Direct stream copy. Under "audio">full processing mode, Click "audio" again. click Conversion check 48,000Hz and check "high quality" and ok. Go to "audio" >compression, select "no compression" (PCM) and ok. Finally go to FILE> save WAV. this will produce a .wav file (audio only).
when its done, load the original avi file again under file. go under audio, select full processing mode, go to audio again, select wav audio. load the wav file you made earler.
under video select direct stream copy, again under video select framerate and change so audio and video durations match.
go to file and save with a new name

I got a problem playing my vid... didnt know where to go...
The audio plays slower than my video... I tried using that program you offered and add some dely, but when I tried saving it as avi, it started an hour long process, and every min took over a GB... so I saw something was wrong...
This is via virtualDub:
[!] AVI: Variable bitrate (VBR) audio detected. VBR audio in AVI is
non-standard and you may encounter sync errors up to 19418ms when
attempting to extract WAV files or processing the audio in Direct Stream
Copy mode. Full Processing mode is recommended to decompress or recompress
the audio. (bitrate: 150.9 ± 24.5 kbps)
So any advice will be welcomed.
P.S
when I delayed that audio it played fine, so I think its fixable, but how do I save it?
It worked!
My report:
It didnt work at first as it was mpeg, I read at VD FAQ about it and saw it only works with avi.
But!
when I saved it as an avi file using VD it doubled the size of the video but didnt fix the audio, so I had to re encode it again, but this time it worked as it was an avi file.
Thank you all very much.

Did you plug one of those video attachemnts in through the USB and the other end with the video lead and audio leads? If so, they are useless and they can cause a problem with the audio where the audio can't keep-up with the video. They can also cause very bad picture quality like VHS on LP. I've also had problems with those with a Firewire card.
If you have the original back-up on DVD, convert it to AVI in your PC with Magic DVD Ripper.
I have alot of Avi.s in which the sound is faster and/or slower than the video. I use DivXtoDvD to burn them into a Video_TS file, there is no audio_TS file. And i cannot burn wav. files. I tried to go to "video">Direct stream copy. Under "audio">full processing mode, then save as AVI. But it didnt work the sound is still not matched with my video. Please help me!!!
