New and Need Help

Hi
can anyone advise on the best/easiest capture card to aquire.
i want a USB2 card so it is portable. I will be editing in premier 6.5.

want to import my VHS tapes into a digital format so i can edit them, a DV imput would be handy as well as analogue.

any advise?

Your may need a device or hack that removes macrovision protection since the majority of commercial VHS tapes are protected by it. Homemade VHS tapes have been know to sometimes report to some standalone DVD reocrders that they are protected content when they are not. Just a heads up.

I can't recommend a capture card since I don't have one. I converted all my tapes to DVD using a standalone DVD recorder that has A/V and fire wire inputs. Might be worth considering.

and also check www.snazzi.com for there hardware encoders but u wont get nice editor like pinnacle, since u will be using premiere u wont need it anyway.
